Our client, a prominent company in the global agriculture sector, is recognised for pioneering technologies and sustainable farming practices. They are seeking an Accountant - Accounts Payable & Payment to manage accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense reports.
This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and vendors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and process invoices
  • Ensure invoices adhere to company policies and approval requirements
  • Accurately enter invoices into the accounting system
  • Prepare and schedule payments in line with terms
  • Reconcile payment batches and ensure proper documentation
  • Track payment deadlines and prioritise urgent payments
  • Assist in preparing tax forms and other necessary documents
  • Perform vendor and account reconciliations for AP and balance sheets
  • Maintain organised records of invoices, payments, and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly and year-end accounts payable reports
  • Support audit documentation and maintain AP files
  • Suggest and implement improvements for finance processes
  • Work closely with finance, procurement, and other teams to resolve issues
  • Support system updates, including ERP implementation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in accounts payable or finance roles
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of tax regulations (e.g., withholding tax, VAT)
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Customer-focused, action-oriented, and results-driven
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills
  • Adaptable to fast-paced and evolving environments
