CAD Design Engineer

Position Overview

Our client is a leading provider of mechanical engineering solutions, serving a wide range of industries, including mining, mineral processing, infrastructure, and defense. They are seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer (preferably with knowledge of Autodesk Fusion 360 and other related CAD software experience can be considerable) to support design and project engineering teams based overseas. This role is responsible for 3D modeling, drafting, and technical documentation to support mechanical equipment design projects.

 

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models of components and assemblies using Autodesk Fusion 360.
• Develop assembly, part, and workshop detail drawings.
• Generate technical production packages, including material take-offs, bills of materials (BoM), cutting lists, and DXF files.
• Process 3D scanning data to support design projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Estimate and manage time requirements for assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years of experience in onshore or offshore mechanical equipment design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting, with expertise in CAD software (as shared below)
• Related Software Experience (one or more): Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX, Solid Edge, Onshape, Creo, CATIA
• Strong ability to create detailed technical production drawings.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in steel fabrication and machining.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), capable of co-ordinating with overseas team independently
