We are seeking a Design & Certification Engineer to join our client's Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of new products and the customisation of existing products, ensuring they meet airworthiness standards. You will oversee certification and qualification activities, create and verify product design documentation, and collaborate closely with the design team to carry out testing procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design and modification of products to meet client requirements and airworthiness standards
- Develop and optimise the production process to ensure quality and efficiency
- Ensure products are designed and produced in accordance with airworthiness standards
- Create and review drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Develop and check manuals, including Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and Illustrated Parts Lists (IPL)
- Prepare certification programs, test plans, test reports, analysis reports, and maintain the Design & Certification Plan
- Draft and review design specifications, process specifications, engineering procedures, and work instructions
- Perform and/or witness qualification and certification tests
- Lead small projects aligned with the Design & Certification Process, including planning, tracking, and reporting project status to stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 1-3 years of engineering experience in a design and/or testing organisation (preferred)
- Strong ability to perform advanced mechanical calculations
- Affinity with aluminium and composite constructions
- Experience with PDM systems (e.g., SmarTeam) and ERP systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of airworthiness standards, safety standards, or automotive standards (preferred)
- Experience with 2D & 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks (preferred)
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Projects
- Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken)
