They are seeking an experienced Merchandise Development Manager to spearhead strategic sourcing, merchandise development, and branding initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesSourcing and Strategy
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organisational objectives
  • Negotiate with domestic and international suppliers to ensure merchandise delivers value and adheres to brand standards
Merchandise Development
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to gather data for merchandise planning and development
  • Design and create merchandise that aligns with contractual obligations and brand direction
  • Analyse market trends and provide actionable insights into merchandise usage and benefits
  • Manage inventory to prevent overstocking or shortages, ensuring optimal stock levels
Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with brand and asset management teams to align merchandise with contract benefits and branding strategies
  • Engage internal stakeholders to support marketing initiatives and branding objectives
  • Develop and oversee the annual merchandise plan, including budget and timeline management
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in sourcing, merchandise development, or a related field, ideally in alcoholic beverages, consumer goods, or luxury international brands
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proven track record in managing budgets, timelines, and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comprehensive knowledge of branding, marketing principles, and inventory management systems
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
