Senior Design & Engineer Manager

Our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of steel building products in Thailand, specialising in pre-engineered steel solutions, is seeking a Senior Design and Engineering (D&E) Manager to oversee the evaluation and design of metal components based on client specifications.
This role involves close collaboration with the Engineering Sales team to ensure that projects align with client needs while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the building materials industry and demonstrated leadership experience in managing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop metal components based on client specifications and architectural plans
• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Sales team to understand client needs and define design requirements
• Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including project plans, design specifications, and engineering methodologies
• Oversee design and engineering phases from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with timelines and budget constraints
• Analyse design proposals and provide technical recommendations to enhance functionality and visual appeal
• Mentor and support team members, providing guidance and expertise as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
• Excellent proficiency in English, encompassing speaking, reading, and writing
• Extensive understanding of metal, sheet, and material properties, particularly in structural design
• Direct experience in the building materials industry, including positions in design development or engineering consultancy
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with proven experience in team management
• Capability to mentor, coach, and guide team members to achieve project success
• Skilled in developing career advancement plans and managing team member promotions
